Paramore‘s new album, This Is Why, is finally here.

This Is Why is the sixth studio effort from Hayley Williams and company, the long-awaited follow-up to 2017’s After Laughter. Building on the sonic departures made in the new wave-influenced After Laughter, which spawned the single “Hard Times,” This Is Why continues to explore new sounds, specifically inspired by Bloc Party.

Lyrically, This Is Why touches on themes including “righteous rage,” “deep-seated vengefulness” and “nostalgia for things you’ve not yet experienced and did not know you even wanted to.”

Paramore first announced This Is Why last September along with the premiere of its lead single and title track. Eventually the song “This Is Why” hit #1 on Billboard‘s Alternative Airplay chart, the first Paramore track to achieve that feat.

Other This Is Why tracks to get an advanced release include “The News” and “C’est Comme Ça.” Paramore also premiered the song “Running Out of Time” during a hometown album release show earlier this week in Nashville. Williams later told Apple Music 1 that “Running Out of Time” was inspired by a moment she shared with Taylor Swift some 15 years ago.

Williams and Swift will reunite in March when Paramore opens up for two dates on the pop superstar’s U.S. stadium tour. Paramore will launch their own headlining U.S. tour supporting This Is Why in May.

Paramore is also hosting a This Is Why “immersive experience” in Los Angeles on Saturday.
