Måneskin bassist Victoria De Angelis collaborates with Duran Duran on a new cover of the Talking Heads song “Psycho Killer.”
The original track is known for its distinctive bassline. Duran Duran bassist John Taylor tells ABC Audio that he reached out to De Angelis after learning that one of her main influences is Talking Heads’ Tina Weymouth.
“So I thought, well, you know what, I’m going to get her to come and play on this,” Taylor says. “So we had kind of fun, like, bass player’s day.”
And it sounds like De Angelis also had a great time. She writes on Instagram, “I’m so grateful and honored, it was so much fun recording together with John and he was so sweet to me and encouraged me to express myself and play it my own way.”
The cover will appear on Duran Duran’s upcoming album Danse Macabre, due out Friday, October 27.
Meanwhile, Måneskin is prepping a deluxe version of their new album RUSH! dubbed RUSH! (ARE U COMING?). The package, due out November 10, includes fan-submitted photos from Måneskin’s live shows that were initially requested for a “special project.”
