Radiohead frontman Thom Yorke has released a reworked rendition of the band’s song “Bloom” for a Greenpeace video supporting Shark Awareness Day, which is held annually on July 14.

The clip, titled “The Lonely Shark,” begins with an animated tale of a shark who swims through the ocean and finds its shark friends and family hooked on fishing lines.

“In the last 50 years the global shark population has plummeted by 70%,” the video’s description reads. “Sharks are being wiped out by overfishing for profit. But our oceans can recover if we protect them.”

You can watch “The Lonely Shark” video streaming now on YouTube, but be warned: the sight of a sad animated shark coupled with Yorke’s melancholy vocals may make you well up. And that’s nothing compared to when the clip shifts to live-action images of hooked sharks being pulled onto fishing boats.

The original “Bloom” appears on Radiohead’s 2011 album, The King of Limbs. They previously reworked the track alongside famed composer Hans Zimmer for the BBC’s 2017 nature documentary series Planet Earth: Blue Planet II.
