Mike Shinoda isn’t done with the Scream universe.
In addition to his collaboration with Demi Lovato, “Still Alive,” the Linkin Park vocalist is contributing another new tune, “In My Head,” to the upcoming Scream VI movie.
Shinoda shared the news in a video featuring him and artist Kailee Morgue working on a song when they get a call from an unknown number. As anyone who’s seen a Scream movie before can guess, the person on the other line turns out to be none other than Ghostface, who asks Shinoda if he’s “almost done with that song for my movie.”
“Yeah, it’s not a problem, we’re working as fast as we can, you’re definitely gonna get it for the movie,” a nervous Shinoda replies.
“Well it better be ready for March 10,” Ghostface warns. “You know what happens if it’s not.”
Luckily for all parties involved, “In My Head” is indeed set to drop this Friday when Scream VI premieres in theaters.
Meanwhile, Lovato’s “Still Alive,” which Shinoda co-wrote and produced, is out now.
Shinoda’s also been working with Linkin Park to prep the upcoming 20th anniversary reissue of their 2003 album, Meteora, due out April 7. The collection includes the previously unreleased song “Lost,” which features the late Chester Bennington on lead vocals.
