Is The Mars Volta returning?
Thursday morning, the record label Clouds Hill tweeted a brief seven-second video that, if you pause at the right time, teases something from the long-inactive prog rockers called “La Realidad de Los Sueños” — Spanish for “The Reality of Dreams.”
The tweet’s caption simply reads, “Coming soon,” along with the hashtag #TheMarsVolta. In a follow-up tweet, Clouds Hill added, “So y’all want to know what’s happening? Maybe we’ll share some more if you get #TheMarsVolta trending.”
The Mars Volta has been on hiatus since finishing the tour behind the group’s latest album, 2012’s Noctourniquet. Members Omar Rodríguez-López and Cedric Bixler-Zavala have since pursued a variety of different projects, including reuniting with At the Drive-In.
Fans have been clamoring for The Mars Volta to return — even Beto O’Rourke declared he wanted the band to reunite during his campaign for the 2020 presidential election.
Stay tuned.
