Is Hayley Williams recording her own version of Taylor Swift‘s folklore?

In an Instagram post, the Paramore frontwoman posted a pair of videos, the first of which shows her recording a drum beat over and over. If you swipe to the second video, you see a clip of Williams saying, “We don’t need drums if this is my folklore.”

Folklore was one of two surprise albums albums Swift dropped in 2020, along with evermore. Both were acoustic-driven, folk-influenced efforts that were recorded with alternative artists such as Jack Antonoff and The National‘s Aaron Dessner.

So, is Williams planning to camp out in the woods and record a folk album? Or is she just teasing? One thing’s for sure, though: fans are very excited.

“YOUR FOLKORE?????” wrote one commenter in all caps. “MA’AM WHAT ARE YOU DOING?”

By the way, Williams and Swift are longtime friends: The “Simmer” singer was among the many big names who appeared in the pop star’s “Bad Blood” video.

Williams released her debut solo album Petals for Armor last spring.
