Guitarist Sophie Lloyd, who plays guitar in Machine Gun Kelly‘s live band, has issued a statement saying she’s been “needlessly dragged” into the rumors surrounding the “Bloody Valentine” rocker’s relationship with Megan Fox.

Kelly and Fox have been in the headlines since the Jennifer’s Body actor wiped her Instagram of any photo or video of her with her fiancé before deactivating her profile altogether. As for how Lloyd figures into all this, People reports that, before Fox deleted her Instagram, a fan commented that Kelly “probably got with Sophie.” Fox then reportedly responded, “Maybe I got with Sophie.”

In a statement provided to People, Lloyd’s management team says, “Sophie Lloyd is a professional, accomplished musician who has been needlessly dragged into the media based off of meritless accusations made by social media.”

“Any suggestion that she has ever acted in an unprofessional manner or stepped out of her relationship are untrue,” the statement adds. “It’s disrespectful to her as a female artist and poor journalism and social commentary to be reporting anything else.”

Lloyd joined MGK’s band last year. She’d previously gone viral with her YouTube “shred” covers of songs including Nirvana‘s “Smells Like Teen Spirit” and Guns N’ Roses“Sweet Child O’ Mine.”

As for Kelly and Fox, People reported earlier this week that Megan had taken her ring off and wouldn’t speak with MGK after a fight with him, but the couple hadn’t yet “officially called off the engagement.” In a follow-up, People reported that the two were “speaking and trying to work things out.”

Kelly and Fox began dating in 2020 and got engaged in January 2022.
