Guests & premiere date announced for Dave Grohl’s ‘From Cradle to Stage’ show with his mom

More details have been announced for From Cradle to Stage, the Dave Grohl-directed TV show based on the book written by the Foo Fighters frontman’s mother, Virginia Hanlon Grohl.

The six-part series is set to premiere May 6 on the Paramount+ streaming service, and will air new episodes each week. Each installment will find the two Grohls interviewing another famous musician and their mother.

The premiere episode, for example, Imagine Dragons frontman Dan Reynolds and his mom, Christene Reynolds. Other artists set to appear on the show with their mothers include Rage Against the Machine‘s Tom Morello, Rush‘s Geddy Lee, Pharrell Williams, Brandi Carlile and Miranda Lambert.

The book From Cradle to Stage was released in 2017. It consists of Virginia Grohl interviewing the moms of musicians including Beastie BoysMike D, R.E.M.‘s Michael Stipe, the HAIM sisters, Amy Winehouse, Dr. Dre and Maroon 5‘s Adam Levine.

Before From Cradle to Stage arrives, you’ll be able to check out another Dave Grohl-directed project: What Drives Us, a documentary film about van touring culture.

What Drives Us will premiere April 30 as part of The Coda Collection, a new, music-focused subscription streaming channel on Amazon Prime Video. It will include appearances by Flea of Red Hot Chili Peppers, Metallica‘s Lars Ulrich, AC/DC‘s Brian Johnson, The BeatlesRingo Starr, Slash and Duff McKagan of Guns N’ Roses, St. Vincent, Aerosmith‘s Steven Tyler, No Doubt‘s Tony Kanal, and U2‘s The Edge, among many others.
