Gorillaz has premiered the video for “The Lost Chord,” a track off the band’s new album, Song Machine, Season One: Strange Timez.

The surprisingly emotional clip stars the members of the cartoon group returning to the world of the 2010 Gorillaz album Plastic Beach as its being destroyed by some sort of giant ancient ocean king, played by guest vocalist Leee John.

A press release describes the “Lost Chord” video as the “finale” of Song Machine, Season One. You can watch it streaming now on YouTube.

Song Machine, Season One: Strange Timez was released in October. It also features collaborations with Beck, Elton John, St. Vincent and The Cure‘s Robert Smith, among others.

Gorillaz debuted songs from Strange Timez live during a trio of streaming concerts earlier in December.
