Goo Goo Dolls have just announced a 27-date 20th anniversary tour in celebration of the band’s 1998 album, Dizzy Up The Girl. The band, led by guitarist John Rzeznik and bassist Robby Takac, kicks things off on September 30th in Phoenix at The Van Buren, with the trek winding down on November 18th in Las Vegas at The Joint. The Goo Goo Dolls tour includes a St. Louis show on October 5th at The Pageant.

Get details on St. Louis Goo Goo Dolls tour stop on the Iron Age Concert Calendar.

Dizzy Up The Girl, which has sold over four million copies in the U.S. alone, was released on September 22nd, 1998 and peaked at Number 15 on the Billboard 200 charts. The album will forever be remembered for the band’s two monster hits “Slide” (#8) and “Iris” (#9) — both of which topped the Mainstream Rock Tracks chart as well — along with the Top 20 single “Black Balloon” (#18).

John Rzeznik told us that one of the highlights of any show is the chance to connect with the band’s original fans: “Everybody that came up with us came just as slow. So it was no big shock. The people that were with us in the beginning, a lot of times, if they still show up, I mean we’ll still talk to them and that just because they’ve realized that we haven’t changed that much, maybe a little more sober. That’s about it.”
