If Paul McCartney can do it, why not Fleet Foxes? A book that collects the Seattle band’s lyrics is due in November.
Wading in Waist-High Water: The Lyrics of Fleet Foxes will feature lyrics from 56 songs across the band’s catalog, as well as notes and an afterword by singer and principal songwriter Robin Pecknold. It’ll be published November 1 by the Tin House publishing company.
The book features an introduction from author Brandon Taylor, who writes, “There is something quite moving about seeing the lyrics of these fifty-six songs collected and assembled this way. You can see the evolution of the minds and hearts at work behind the lyrics…It’s a thrill, realizing that it’s a still-evolving and growing body of work.”
You can register now at TinHouse.com to be notified when the book is available for pre-order.
Fleet Foxes will release physical versions of the live album A Very Lonely Solstice this spring. It was recorded in December of 2020 at Brooklyn, New York’s St. Ann and the Holy Trinity Church and was released digitally on December 10, 2021. Originally broadcast as a livestream, the concert focuses on Peckfnold performing a solo acoustic set of fan favorites and a few covers.
