After many dalliances in the beer world, Deftones has now turned to a different alcohol.
Chino Moreno and company are launching their own tequila brand in collaboration with the company Abre Ojos. The bottle is decorated with the art from Deftones’ classic 2000 album White Pony in honor of its recent 20th anniversary.
According to the Abre Ojos website, the Deftones tequila was handcrafted in the actual Mexican town of Tequila.
“It is aged up to two years in American Oak used whiskey barrels creating caramel, vanilla, hazelnut and chocolate notes,” the description reads. “The buttery taste ends with a smoky, mature flavor. It is meant to sip and enjoy.”
You can pre-order a bottle yourself now via AbreOjosTequila.com.
Deftones marked the 20th anniversary of White Pony last year with a deluxe reissue including a remixed version of the album, called Black Stallion. The band’s 2020 also included the release of a brand-new album, Ohms.
