Here are a few of today’s releases from the hard rock world to get you pumped for the weekend.
Starset has released a cover of the Led Zeppelin classic “Kashmir” as an exclusive track for Amazon Music. The sci-fi rockers wanted to make the Physical Graffiti epic “even heavier and bigger.”
“Hopefully people enjoy it — a version never intended to ‘beat’ or ‘improve’ the original, but give it a Starset spin while paying homage to one of the greatest — if not the greatest — rock bands of all time,” says frontman Dustin Bates.
Papa Roach guests on a new track called “Domination” from DJ/producer Kayzo and electronic rock artist Sullivan King. It’s available now via digital outlets.
Escape the Fate dropped their new album Chemical Warfare today, and they’ve also shared the video for the record’s opening track, “Lightning Strike.” The clip, which is streaming now on YouTube, finds the band imbued with Emperor Palpatine-like lighting powers.
Lacuna Coil has announced Live from the Apocalypse, a live album recorded during the band’s streaming concert last fall. The record is due out June 25, and you can listen to the live version of the song “Bad Things” now via digital outlets.
(“Domination” video contains uncensored profanity.)
