Cage The Elephant has rocketed to Number One on the modern rock airplay chart, as the band’s current single “Ready To Let Go” has vaulted to the top of both the radio list and Billboard‘s Alternative Songs survey. The song has reached the top in just about half the time it took its 2010 single, “Shake Me Down,” which got there in 11 weeks.

“Ready To Let Go” has also notched the fastest climb since Twenty One Pilots did it in just two weeks with “Jumpsuit” last July. The song has also reached the Top 20 at rock radio and even scored in the Adult Alternative format.

Cage The Elephant now has a total of eight Number Ones on Billboard‘s chart, tying it for the fifth-most in the chart’s 30-year history. Red Hot Chili Peppers leads the list with 13, followed by Green Day and Linkin Park tied with 11 apiece, Foo Fighters with 10 and then Cage The Elephant with eight.

Social Cues, Cage The Elephant’s fifth studio album, will be out April 19th. The band will embark with Beck this summer on the co-headlining “The Night Running Tour,” beginning on July 11th in Ridgefield, Washington and concluding six weeks later on August 30th in West Palm Beach, Florida.
