After releasing her debut solo album Jaime in 2019, Alabama Shakes Brittany Howard has more music in the works.

“I mean, I’m always tinkering,” Howard tells ABC Audio. “That’s the thing, my music is just me playing. And when I get enough of the tracks, then I just go make a record.”

Howard shares that she’s got “tons of things I’ve been working on writing.”

“One day soon, when it feels right, it’ll make sense to actually sit down and get a band together and to make that a record,” Howard says.

She adds, “You know me, it’ll just come out of nowhere.”

In addition to working on new music, Howard is nominated for several Grammys at this year’s ceremony, including Best Alternative Music Album for Jaime, and Best Rock Song and Best Rock Performance for her song “Stay High.”

The 2021 Grammys will be held March 14 after being postponed due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
