BLINK-182 GUITARIST STUMPS BY DAY, ROCKS BY NIGHT
Blink-182 singer-guitarist Tom DeLonge knows how important the 2004 presidential campaign is — and he’s been quite vocal about his choice in the upcoming election. DeLonge is backing the Democratic candidate, Massachusetts Senator John Kerry, and he told us that Kerry has some things in common with young voters: “The thing that’s really cool about him is — that I think kids will love — is he would definitely be the first President that you’d see snowboarding down a side of a mountain (chuckles), windsurfing, and, and doing all these kind of extreme sports. In many ways, I think he is kinda like a big kid, but he’s just extremely intelligent, and has a resume that’s impeccable.”
DeLonge stumped for the Kerry campaign last month in New York City and Pittsburgh.
Blink-182 is currently wrapping up headlining tour dates with the Used, and their next show is tonight (Tuesday, May 25th) at the Ford Pavilion At Montage Mountain in Scranton, Pennsylvania. Their tour ends Sunday (May 30th) in Darien Center, New York.
Blink-182 will kick off a tour opening for No Doubt beginning June 1 in Noblesville, Indiana.
