Billie Eilish continues her domination of the Billboard charts. It was revealed Monday that the “Therefore I Am” singer shattered the record for having the most number one songs by a solo artist on Billboard‘s Alternative Airplay chart.
“Therefore” is Eilish’s fourth single since May 2019 to top the Alternative Airplay rankings. She first shot to the top of the chart with her single “bury a friend,” which maintained the number one spot for two weeks.
“Bad guy” soon took over, extending its reign for two weeks, as well, before “everything i wanted” shot to the top in February 2020.
The latter held onto number one for five weeks.
Thanks to “Therefore,” Eilish finally overthrows fellow solo acts Beck and Alanis Morissette‘s reign atop the Alternative Airplay rankings.
Previously, the “Loser” singer saw three of his singles climb to the top between 1994 and 2017, as did Morissette between 1995 and 1996.
Eilish, 19, also holds the Alternative Airplay record for having the most chart-topping singles by a woman or a band with female vocals. Previously, she was in a three-way tie with Morissette, The B-52s and The Head and the Heart.
Elsewhere, “Therefore” continues its climb up Billboard‘s Rock Airplay chart, jumping from fourth to second place this week.
