The St. Louis County Police Association Fraternal Order of Police, Lodge 111 Charitable Foundation, Need of Aid, was established as a 501(c)(3) foundation in 2019 as a benefit for members of Lodge 111.
Need of Aid was established to help provide emergency financial assistance to St. Louis County Police Department officers, professional staff and their immediate family members who have suffered a traumatic injury, illness or other unforeseen hardship. The foundation provides these members with an unrestricted check to use in whatever way they need during this difficult and unexpected time. In addition, the foundation can organize meals or provide anything else that might be helpful to the individuals or their families.
While the foundation dedicates itself to helping St. Louis County police officers and professional staff who make daily sacrifices to keep our community safe, the foundation also recognizes the sacrifices made by the families of those individuals. To help say thank you to our families, Need of Aid has instituted a college scholarship program. Each year starting in 2021, up to five college students will receive a scholarship to help with tuition, books or whatever they need to help them succeed in obtaining a higher education.
Need of Aid is currently administered by a five-member board consisting of commissioned St. Louis County Police officers. The Need of Aid Board of Directors administers the organization and approves all benefit assistance grants.
Need of Aid is supported by individual and corporate donations. The foundation also sponsors a variety of fundraising events. All donations to Need of Aid are tax deductible. Please find more information on our website: www.needofaid-slcpa.org.
Our mission is simple. We want to ensure that our St. Louis County Police officers, the professional staff and their courageous families are cared for and supported financially and emotionally when they are in need of aid the most.
We hope that you will join us in supporting the brave men and women of the St. Louis County Police Department who serve and protect our community every day of the year.
