The PurpleStride Run/Walk is now just 10 days away – Sunday, September 28th at the Lower Muny Lot in Forest Park.  Thanks to you, Team Ninja is over 280 members strong and has raised nearly $9,000 for the Pancreatic Cancer Action Network!  Way to go, Ninjas!

Here’s some event info for you…

Check-In and t-shirt and packet pickup for all members of Team Ninja will take place the morning of the event – Sunday, September 28th – from 7am-8:45am at the 105.7 The Point tent in the Lower Muny Lot in Forest Park.  You will NOT need to get anything from, or check in with, the PurpleStride people in advance or on the day of the event.  The Point will handle all of that for you and will have all of your items (t-shirts, race packets/bibs) at the 105.7 The Point Check-In tent in the Lower Muny Lot the morning of the event (9/28).  All of us from The Rizzuto Show will be there to greet you as you check in.

To clear up any possible confusion, most, if not all, of you will receive a PurpleStride t-shirt (for being a part of the overall event) AND a Team Ninja t-shirt (for being a part of Team Ninja).  These, along with your event packet (which includes your race bib), will ONLY be available for pick-up the morning of the event (9/28) at the 105.7 The Point tent in the Lower Muny Lot.  PurpleStride may send you an email with info about an advance pick-up event on Saturday, September 27th, but we’re asking you NOT to try to pick-up your shirt and packet at that event.  Instead, please pick up everything at the 105.7 The Point tent in the Lower Muny Lot between 7am-8:45am the morning of the event (9/28) as outlined above.

Here’s a timeline of event festivities…

Sunday, September 28th

***7am-8:45am:  Check-In (shirt and packet pick-up) at the 105.7 The Point tent in the Lower Muny Lot in Forest Park

***8:45am:  Team Photo at the 105.7 The Point tent

***9am:  Opening Ceremonies

***9:30am:  Run/Walk Begins

You can find parking info here -> http://bit.ly/1r1jLEr.  It is recommended that you carpool, if possible, as space will be limited.

Although we closed down Team Ninja registration this past Monday (9/15) at 3pm, if you have any friends and/or family members that are still interested in joining the team, they can still technically register for the PurpleStride Run/Walk AND join Team Ninja through the PurpleStride St. Louis website http://bit.ly/1wqdunJ or on-site with PurpleStride the morning of the event (9/28).  However, anyone who has joined the team after our Monday 9/15 cutoff will NOT receive a Team Ninja t-shirt.

Finally, we’re issuing another Eagle Call.  Let’s say a big “F YOU!” to pancreatic cancer and get Team Ninja past the $10,000 mark for total money raised for the Pancreatic Cancer Action Network!  So here it is…EAGLE CALL:  Hit up your family, friends, neighbors, co-workers and get them to make a donation through YOUR PurpleStride page to this great cause!  Let’s do this!

If you have any questions, please send them to The Point’s Promotions Coordinator Greg Bowe at gbowe@stl.emmis.com.  He’ll be happy to answer any questions you may have.

We look forward to running/walking with you on Sunday, September 28th.  Again, make sure you check in at the 105.7 The Point tent between 7am-8:45am on Sunday, September 28th!  See you there!

Energy Up! (-Moon)
