WHITE STRIPES, RADIOHEAD, OTHERS ON NEW COMPILATION HONORING PIONEERING LABEL

XL Recordings, one of the most influential and celebrated record labels of the past 30 years, will celebrate its 25th anniversary this month with a hefty compilation called Pay Close Attention. The set will feature key recordings by some of the most important artists to work with the label, including Radiohead, the White Stripes, the Prodigy, Vampire Weekend, Adele, Bobby Womack and many more.

The set will be released on August 25th and will be available on four-LP vinyl, CD and download.

An interactive companion website has already been launched, featuring new interviews and performance footage from The White Stripes, Tyler, The Creator, the Prodigy and more.

The compilation is split into two parts, with the first covering the dance and club roots of the label and the second disc chronicling its more traditional rock, alternative and pop releases.

Label owner Richard Russell said in a statement, "XL Recordings is a collaborative endeavor, and many people have contributed to its evolution . . . There is no unifying genre; hopefully the thread of originality is evident though."
