VOLBEAT STARTING TO PIECE TOGETHER NEW MUSIC

Volbeat drummer Jon Larsen told Finnish outlet Kaaos TV that the band is already beginning to gather ideas for its sixth studio album. Larsen explained that work will probably begin on a new record following the holidays at the end of the year, saying, "Michael (Poulsen, Volbeat frontman), of course, is already starting, he's already adding stuff and pieces, he's already thinking about artwork, titles, songs . . . he's already way ahead of that. But we're gonna start up probably either late December already maybe or definitely early January and lock ourselves in the rehearsal room and try to come up with some new stuff."

Volbeat will have a little break in late August before returning to the U.S. and Poulsen told us he hopes to some work on new music then: "We'll be home for, I guess, three weeks or something and at the same time I have a lot of ideas for new songs. I have to sit down in my own house and put the pieces together and come up with some new songs. I'm looking forward to get back home and say hello to my family and start writing a little bit, and then before we know it we're back on the road."

Volbeat's co-headlining North American tour with Five Finger Death Punch will kick off on September 16th in Salt Lake City.

Volbeat's fifth album, Outlaw Gentlemen & Shady Ladies, was released last year.

The group's latest single, "Dead But Rising," is the sixth track from the band to reach the Top Three at rock radio.
