STROKES FINISH TOUR WITH LETTERMAN GIG

The Strokes wrapped up their latest North American tour last week with a homecoming show in New York on Wednesday (May 19th) and an appearance on CBS-TV's Late Show With David Letterman on Friday night (May 21st). While they've done several of them, Strokes drummer Fabrizio Moretti told us that TV performances can be a tricky thing. "It depends on how much control you have over the sound. Usually we ask to go and work with the engineer of the show, and they're really helpful like that. But sometimes I watch, like, a band try to perform on one of those shows and it seems like there's something missing. There's like a translation that's being lost, you know."

Strokes vocalist Julian Casablancas announced from the stage on May 19th that he's getting married. The lucky girl is the band's assistant manager, Juliet Joslin. According to the New York Post, the couple has been dating for just one month, but she's "loved him forever."
