STAIND PLANNING 'JUNE-ISH' RELEASE FOR NEXT ALBUM

Staind is planning a "June-ish" release for its yet-to-be-titled sixth studio album, according to Tunelab Music. The group will tentatively begin touring in April to promote the disc, which will follow up 2005's Chapter V. The band began writing its new CD at the end of November, although there's no word yet on when it will enter the studio to begin recording. Guitarist Mike Mushok said in a video clip that the group posted online that the tunes at that point were split between some of the heaviest material the band has written and some of its more standard melodic fare.

Staind took a year-long hiatus after touring for most of 2006 behind Chapter V. The group also released both a greatest hits and video collection in 2006.

Staind singer Aaron Lewis and his wife Vanessa welcomed their third daughter, named Indie Shay, into the world on November 19th.

Lewis recently kicked off his latest solo acoustic tour on December 26th and is in the midst of a 10-show run at the Mohegan Sun Casino in Uncasville, Connecticut that continues on Thursday night (January 3rd).
