SLIPKNOT OFFERING INCENTIVE TO BUY NEW ALBUM EARLY

Slipknot releases their new album, Vol. 3: (The Subliminal Verses) today (Tuesday, May 25th). As an incentive to purchase the album early, the first pressing of Vol. 3 features a key code which enables users to access exclusive Slipknot goods via the Internet, including videos, interview clips, and an unreleased track. The group will also be giving away 9 used Iowa tour jumpsuits to lucky key holders.

For Vol. 3: (The Subliminal Verses), Slipknot brought in famed producer Rick Rubin -- best known for his work with Audioslave and the Red Hot Chili Peppers. Slipknot lead singer Corey Taylor told us it took the band a few months to get used to Rubin's unique producing style: "It was definitely frustrating at first, because Rick is kind of renowned for taking his time and, you know, we definitely took our time on this one, with six-and-a-half months. But the payoff was amazing, you know. He sat us down, he's like, 'Do you realize that you can be just as extreme with a whisper as you can with a scream? The heavy stuff, you're obviously very good at, but at the same time, we're gonna break outside of this box.'"

"Duality," the first song released from Vol. 3: (The Subliminal Verses), moves up 3 spots to Number 23 on this week's Billboard modern rock tracks chart.

Slipknot begins the European leg of its world tour on Friday (May 28th) in Finland. The group returns to the U.S. to headline Ozzfest beginning July 10th.
