Rock Quick Hits: William Corgan, The Killers

  • Smashing Pumpkins frontman William Corgan has shared a new track called "The Spaniards" along with an accompanying video. The song is the second released off his forthcoming solo album, Ogilala, which is due for release on October 13th. The clip is composed of scenes from Pillbox, Corgan's recently announced silent film set to the music of Ogilala, which will premiere next month with screenings in London, Los Angeles, Chicago, and New York.   • The Killers scored the first Number One LP of their 13-year career on the Billboard 200 album chart Sunday night (October 1st), when their fifth album, Wonderful Wonderful, debuted in the top spot. The set, which came out on September 2nd, moved 118,000 equivalent album units in its first week of release, of which 111,000 were traditional album sales. The Killers’ previous studio album, Battle Born, launched at Number Three back in 2012 with 113,000 copies sold. (Billboard)
