Rock Quick Hits: Godsmack, Nine Inch Nails, Korn

  • Godsmack has enlisted the services of We Came As Romans producer Erik Ron to co-produce its new album alongside frontman Sully Erna. The band intends to enter the studio to begin work on the effort in early October once frontman Erna wraps up his overseas solo tour. Erna recently said that the album should hit stores in April with the first single to arrive in January. (The PRP)
     
  • Nine Inch Nails frontman Trent Reznor told Chicago radio station WKQX that director David Lynch turned down the first song Reznor submitted for the recent third season of Twin Peaks. Reznor explained, "We wrote a different song initially, and (Lynch) said, ‘How about something less Twin Peaks-y sounding, and more aggressive and ugly.'" Atticus Ross added that Lynch said he wanted a song to “make my hair stand on end.” The band performing the song it ultimately wrote on the series.   • Korn singer Jonathan Davis is passionate about video gaming and has posted a video showing off his custom Xbox One gaming rig that he takes out on tour. He also reveals in the clip that he often prefers playing games more oriented towards children, including Slime Rancher, the Lego Batman series and Toy Story 3. He also mentions that he games with his own children online during his downtime on tour. (The PRP)
