A Perfect Circle shares video for "The Doomed"

A Perfect Circle has released the official music video for "The Doomed," the first new music to be heard from the band's expected 2018 album. The track is one of 15 new songs that the group has been working on for the LP, with guitarist Billy Howerdel explaining that it's one of the more recent additions: "'The Doomed' was a fairly new thing. I just kind of presented a little snippet of an idea to Maynard (James Keenan, singer) and he thought there was something there and asked me to kind of flesh it out into a song. So I just came back with a song and he wrote to it quickly, and that's one of those songs that came together quicker than most."

  • The clip arrives as the band is in the final two weeks of its North American tour. Howerdel said last week that the band is "well over the midway point" of work on its next studio outing.
  • The last A Perfect Circle album, a collection of cover songs called eMOTIVe, came oout 14 years ago in 2003.
  • The band's lineup remains unchanged from its last live shows in 2013. Joining Keenan and Howerdel once again are James Iha on rhythm guitar, Matt McJunkins on bass and Jeff Friedl on drums.
