NIRVANA, CHILI PEPPERS, BLACK SABBATH BASSISTS MAKE 'RICHEST' LIST

Nirvana's Krist Novoselic, Flea from the Red Hot Chili Peppers and Black Sabbath's Geezer Butler all made a list of the 10 richest bassists in music published by The Richest. The site did not reveal its sources or how it calculated each individual musician's wealth. The top spot on the list belonged to former Beatle Paul McCartney, who has an estimated worth of $1.2 billion.

The full list is:

  1. The Beatles' Paul McCartney – $1.2 billion
  2. The Police's Sting – $300 million
  3. Kiss' Gene Simmons – $300 million
  4. Pink Floyd's Roger Waters – $270 million
  5. U2's Adam Clayton – $150 million
  6. Red Hot Chili Peppers' Flea – $115 million
  7. Led Zeppelin's John Paul Jones – $80 million
  8. Black Sabbath's Geezer Butler – $65 million
  9. No Doubt's Tony Kanal – $45 million
  10. Nirvana's Krist Novoselic – $40 million

Several notable bassists, including Queen's John Deacon, ex-Van Halen bassist Michael Anthony and former Guns N' Roses bass player Duff McKagan are not on the list.
