NEW 3 DOORS DOWN SINGLE SURFACING THIS MONTH

3 Doors Down will release a new single called "When You're Young" to radio stations on January 18th, according to Tunelab Music. The song is taken from the band's upcoming fifth album, tentatively titled Time Of My Life, which is due in stores later this year. The new disc will follow up 2008's self-titled fourth album, which was the band's second Number One debut and fourth straight effort to land in the Billboard Top 10.

The Mississippi-based band entered the studio last August to begin work on the new CD with producer Howard Benson.

Frontman Brad Arnold told us a while back that he had some ideas about the sound of the new album: "In my head right now I want to hear a lot of songs that are upbeat and fun and catchy. I really want to focus on the upbeat thing because a lot of times we can get a little heavy with it sometimes. And no instrumental heavy but in the meanings of songs and the thought process going to it. I'm about light-hearted ideas that make people feel good."

3 Doors Down has yet to announce tour plans for 2011. The band's most recent live appearance was its seventh annual benefit concert for the group's Better Life Foundation, which took place in November in Tunica, Mississippi.
