Muse has released a new single called "Dig Down," the band's first new music since its 2015 album Drones. The track has been accompanied by a video starring model and activist Lauren Wasser. Muse frontman Matt Bellamy said in a statement, "When I was writing this song, I was looking to counteract the current negativity in the world and give inspiration, optimism and hope to people to fight for the causes they believe in; that as individuals we can choose to change the world if we want to."
- The band has not indicated whether "Dig Down" is the first song from a new album. It was recently reported that Muse had been in the studio recording three new songs.
- The British trio performed "Dig Down" on Thursday (May 18th) at a New York presentation for advertisers by The CW network, where "Dig Down" will serve as the theme song for the network's upcoming TV season.
- Muse returns to North America this spring and summer for a tour with Thirty Seconds To Mars and Prvis that kicks off on May 20th in West Palm Beach, Florida, with the last stop for now on September 20th in Salt Lake City. The band is also headlining the first full day of Chicago's Lollapalooza festival this summer, on August 3rd.
