LOLLAPALOOZA KICKS OFF FRIDAY, PERFORMANCES STREAMING ONLINE

Lollapalooza kicks off on Friday (August 1st) at Grant Park in Chicago, with more than 100,000 people expected to attend the festival through Sunday (August 3rd). For everyone who can't make it to the Windy City, the festival organizers plan to stream 200 hours of selected performances online, all of them available for free.

This year’s Lollapalooza lineup features Arctic Monkeys, Kings of Leon, Lorde, Foster The People, Eminem, Outkast, Skrillex, Young The Giant, AFI, Cage The Elephant, Chvrches, Grouplove, Interpol, Portugal. The Man., Fitz And The Tantrums and more.

A total of 130 acts will appear at this weekend's event, which marks Lollapalooza’s 10th anniversary as a destination festival in Chicago.

Three-day passes sold out in one hour -- a new record -- while one-day passes were gone in two hours.

Lollapalooza officially dates back to 1991, when Jane’s Addiction frontman Perry Farrell launched it as a touring festival.
