“Talking to Myself" was released as Linkin Park's new single and the video came out just hours before Chester Bennington's death, but that's not what's moving up the charts. “One More Light,” the title track from their latest album, spends its second week on the Billboard rock chart. Back in May, just after Chris Cornell died, the band performed it on Jimmy Kimmel Live! in honor of the late Soundgarden singer. And now radio stations are starting to play it.
In the first full tracking week following Bennington’s death, Linkin Park charted a record 23 songs on the Billboard Hot Rock Songs chart at the same time.
Lead singer Chester Bennington was laid to rest on Satuday, July 29. The band has since canceled a scheduled tour that would have kicked off July 27 in Boston.
