COURTNEY LOVE ADMITS BLOWING $27 MILLION OF KURT COBAIN'S MONEY

Courtney Love, the former Hole singer and widow of Nirvana frontman Kurt Cobain, has revealed in a new interview that she spent $27 million of her late husband's fortune on various lawsuits over the years. Love told the U.K.'s Sunday Times, "I know that’s a lifetime of money to most people, but I’m a big girl, it’s rock ‘n’ roll, it’s Nirvana money, I had to let it go. I make enough to live on, I’m financially solvent, I focus on what I make now."

Love added that she used cocaine to help her keep track of the money she spent, explaining, "I had to run very fast to look after my money and I felt cocaine helped me do that. So I started taking cocaine and that turned into nine months of crack."

Love sold off half the publishing rights to Cobain's catalog several years ago when she needed money, but claims that she has protected the music from being exploited. She said, "I’ve protected it from everything from Kentucky Fried Chicken commercials to movies about board games. We’ve been offered $6 million for 18 seconds of one Nirvana song and I turned it down."

Love and the surviving members of Nirvana feuded for years over how Cobain's music should be handled, although they seemed to settle their differences during the band's induction into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame last April.

Love is also an executive producer on a planned film biography of Cobain, which she said she hopes to get into production "within the next year or so."
