BILLY CORGAN LETTING FANS PICK SET LIST FOR SOLO GIG

Smashing Pumpkins frontman Billy Corgan has invited fans to choose the set list for a solo show he's doing on August 30th at Highland Park Ravinia in Illinois. Corgan has launched a contest at the Pumpkins' website where fans are encouraged to put together a 20-song set list drawn from all eras of Corgan's career, including "pre-Pumpkins, pre-Gish, the original lineup years, Zwan, solo, and Pumpkins 4.0 and beyond." The list should be in the order fans want to hear the songs, and shouldn't draw too heavily on any one era.

Corgan won't play the winning list in full at the acoustic show, but is likely to perform "selected" tracks from it.

One fan who participates in the contest will also meet Corgan after the gig and hear a private performance of a song.

The Pumpkins recently completed the recording of Monuments For An Elegy, the first of two new albums. Corgan hopes to also complete the second, titled Day For Night, by the end of summer.
