Mark Wahlberg on the story: "Ted is finally going to marry Tami-Lynn, John has since been divorced for quite some time from his wife, Laurie, and as much as John's excited for Ted he's also pretty depressed about his situation and how his relationship deteriorated, they're getting married in the same church and of course John is Ted's best man and shortly after they're married reality sets in and Ted is now trying to figure out a way to save his marriage and they go on a journey to allow Ted to become a dad."
Amanda Seyfried on her character, Sam: "Samantha is a young, young lawyer, she's just fresh out of law school and she's kind of trying to find her footing in this law firm, her uncle hires her to come in as a junior attorney and she works really really hard, she's just really, really sincere and really hardworking and she has a kind of offbeat way about her and that really worked for me."
Seth MacFarlane on Donny wanting to get his hands on Ted: "Donny wants to cut Ted open and figure out what makes him tick and thereby manufacture millions of Teds for every child in America, including himself, and that sort of duck tails with our other story and then if Ted is left without any sort of Civil Rights then Donny and Hasbro can swoop right in and take him and it's petty theft as opposed to kidnapping him, a big corporation can deal with that."
