#SPORTS! As their season has spiraled out of control, the New York Giants have begun to prepare... The New York Yankees took advantage of Twitter bumping up its character limit AND MORE

The Blues are back in action tonight as they take on the Arizona Coyotes at Scottrade Center.  Pucks drops tonight at 7:00PM on Fox Sports Midwest.  Couple other Blues things….Fun fact…the Blues are currently 12-3-1.  It’s the BEST START IN TEAM HISTORY.  Also, Robby Fabbri had surgery on his left knee on Tuesday.  Team doctors say the surgery was a success but there is no timetable as far as his return.

Thursday night football tonight has the Seahawks travelling to Arizona to take on the Cardinals.  The Seahawks are currently 5-3 while the Cardinals are 4-4.   You can make your picks by heading to 1057thepoint.com/picks right now.

Daniel Flores, a 17-year-old catcher who signed with the Boston Red Sox in July when the international amateur signing window opened, died Wednesday due to complications stemming from cancer treatment. Flores was signed out of Venezuela and was classified the second-best prospect available, according to MLB.com. Flores was receiving treatments in Boston when he died. Although he was several years away from the majors, Flores was already being hailed by scouts for his defense behind the plate, especially his arm strength and quick release. It's likely he would have ranked among the Red Sox's top five prospects by most projections heading into next season.

LiAngelo Ball and two other UCLA men’s basketball players were released on bail early yesterday by a Chinese court. The three were arrested on suspicion of shoplifting sunglasses from a Louis Vuitton store next to their hotel, according to ESPN. The team is scheduled for a Friday game in Shanghai.  ((AUDIO))

The Green Bay Packers have cut Martellus Bennett with the failure to disclose a medical condition designation, bringing the tight end's short tenure at Lambeau Field to a surprising end. General manager Ted Thompson announced the move on Wednesday after practice. By cutting Bennett with that designation, it sets up the Packers' case for a grievance to reclaim the $4.2 million in remaining prorated signing bonus money. Bennett is now subject to waivers. All 31 other teams have until 4 p.m. ET Thursday to submit a claim on him. If he does not get claimed, he becomes a free agent and can sign with any team at any time after that.  Bennett's release comes hours after Packers coach Mike McCarthy ruled him out for this week because of a shoulder injury.  This all after Bennett said earlier this year…this will MOST LIKELY be his last year in the league.

As their season has spiraled out of control, the New York Giants have begun to prepare for their future by focusing on potential franchise quarterbacks who could be available in this year’s NFL draft. There was a directive given several weeks back by co-owner John Mara to start looking closely at the top college quarterbacks. This occurred around the time it became apparent that the Giants’ season was headed nowhere. Vice president of player evaluation Marc Ross, who runs the Giants’ draft, personally went to scout UCLA quarterback Josh Rosen in recent weeks.  Rosen (5), USC sophomore Sam Darnold (1) and Wyoming’s Josh Allen (6) are the quarterbacks in Todd McShay’s most recent Top 32 draft prospects. Louisville’s Lamar Jackson and Oklahoma’s Baker Mayfield, with a surge in recent weeks, are also highly regarded by scouts.

The New York Yankees took advantage of Twitter bumping up its character limit from 140 to 280 by trolling the rest of baseball, listing all 27 of the years they have won the World Series. The Yankees' 27 titles, of course, are the most in all of baseball (St. Louis is second with 11) and in all of American professional sports in general.
