41% of Women Wouldn't Date Somebody with an Annoying Pet

Pet owners will do just about anything to keep their fur babies happy.  Turns out, that can be a turn off to singles out there who aren’t pet parents.

Woodstream recently surveyed 1,000 people about their pet peeves when it comes to pets and dating, and there are some clear furry deal breakers out there.

While you may not have a problem kissing your dog on the mouth or talking about your cat non-stop, your romantic partner might.

Of course, what irks some are delights for others. Woodstream found that many would do just about anything for love, including clean the litter box of their partner’s cat. Sixty-one percent said they would take on the dirty deed.

But not everyone is cool with kitties: 21% of males and 17% of females said they wouldn’t be able to date someone who lets their cat sleep on the bed, with even more taking issue when it is a large dog sharing the space.

Would You "Divorce" Your In-Laws If You Could?

When you marry someone, you're stuck with their parents.  And even if they're the most normal people in the world, they're STILL going to do a few things that make you crazy.  That's just how in-laws work.

So a new survey asked people:  If you could stay with your husband or wife but DIVORCE their parents and get them out of your life for good, would you do it?  And 22% said DEFINITELY.

The survey also found that more than half of people say their in-laws have caused relationship problems.

The top three reasons are:  They give unwanted opinions . . . your significant other takes their parents' side . . . and you have arguments with them over how to discipline your kids.

And finally, almost one out of 10 people say they've ENDED a relationship because of the other person's parents.

The Worst Thing You Can Say in Online Dating Is . . . "Sorry"

"Love Story" told us that love means never having to say you're sorry. And now apparently DATING requires never saying sorry.  So just stop apologizing in general, it's hurting your game.

A new study by a dating app called Hinge figured out the best and worst things you can say when you start talking to a potential date online.  The two best things are . . .

1.  "Haha."  Or "lol."  Conversations where you laugh a lot are 17% more likely to lead to phone numbers being exchanged.

2.  "I like your name."  Complimenting someone's name makes you 12.5% more likely to get their number.

The two WORST things you can say in your first conversation are . . .

1.  "Sorry."  People who apologize for anything in the first conversation are 56% less likely to eventually exchange numbers.

2.  "Let's get together next week."  People who don't pick a specific date to meet up are 40% less likely to exchange numbers.

A New App Just Sends You on Dates, Without All the Swiping and Texting

A new study out yesterday found that having too many options when you're dating online can actually be a BAD thing.

Researchers at the University of Wisconsin had people look through profiles and choose someone to go on a date with.  One group had 24 different options.  The other group only had six.  And the people with more options were more likely to REGRET their pick one week later.

The researchers think it's because of "FOMO," or the "fear of missing out."  When you have a ton of options on an app like Tinder, it's harder to settle on one person, because you can't stop wondering if all those other options were better.

Which is why THIS might be worth a shot.  There's a new dating app called "First" that cuts out all the swiping . . . doesn't HAVE a messaging option . . . and just immediately sends you out on DATES with people.  You can check it out at GoFirst.co.

You pick the type of date you want to go on, like drinks or the movies.  You decide who's paying, or you can split it.  And you post a specific time and place to meet up.

Then other people can accept your date, and YOU get to choose who to meet up with.  So you probably won't end up with a massive list of people, just a few.

The guy who came up with it says he was sick of texting girls for a week before they actually got to meet up for a date in person.  The app launched nationwide yesterday, and it's only on iPhones so far.  So there might not be a ton of users yet.

63% of Women Think a Dad Bod Is Sexier Than Muscles

Here's an early Father's Day ego boost.  Apparently that doughy physique you've been sporting is actually sexier than you think . . .

According to a new survey, 69% of women think a "dad bod" is sexy . . . and 63% prefer a dad bod over a guy who's in crazy good shape.

The study defined "dad bod" as, quote, "relatively fit, but neither lean nor muscular."  So not TOO chubby, but also not ripped or even toned at all.

Here are four more stats from the survey . . .

1.  78% of women think a dad bod is a sign that a guy's comfortable in his own skin.

2.  47% of women agreed the "dad bod" is the new six-pack.  So a little extra padding is in style right now.

3.  80% of women said they'd be proud to be married to a guy with a dad bod.

4.  92% of married men with a dad bod said they're HAPPY with their marriage.  86% are happy with their life in general.  And 61% said they're proud of their body.

A whopping 41 percent of women and 32 percent of men consider a badly-behaved pet to be a relationship dealbreaker, according to a new survey by Woodstream. Overall, 31 percent of respondents see pet behavior as a reflection of the owner. Among the people who ended a relationship because of a pet, the #1 reason was the animal was creepy–engaging in behaviors like watching the couple have sex. Noisiness and dirtiness were listed as the second and third most offensive traits, respectively. So what types of animals are to blame for the demise of all these relationships? Forty-five percent blame the dog and 32 percent blame the cat. Meanwhile, 18 percent claim a snake has caused their romance to fizzle.
