#RizzNews: ANTHONY WEINER has begun his prison sentence. After a Pledge Dies, Florida State Suspends All of Its Fraternities and Sororities AND MORE
ANTHONY WEINER has begun his prison sentence
Anthony Weiner’s prison time has begun.
The former New York congressman has reported to Devens Federal Medical Center in Massachusetts to begin his 21-month sentence, a spokesperson for the institution confirmed to PEOPLE.
Weiner pleaded guilty in May for repeatedly sexting a 15-year-old girl. In September, Weiner was sentenced to 21 months in prison with three years probation. He also must register as a sex offender after his prison term is complete and cannot appeal his sentence due to his guilty plea.
Devens is one of only nine federal prisons that offers treatment for sex addiction, which Weiner asked he continue at his sentencing, according to the New York Daily News.
Weiner is now serving in Devens alongside Peter Madoff, the brother of notorious Ponzi schemer Bernie Madoff, according to the Bureau of Prisons website. The institution also once housed Boston Marathon bomber Dzhokhar Tsarnaev.
After a Pledge Dies, Florida State Suspends All of Its Fraternities and Sororities
It's hard to believe that HAZING is still going on in this day and age, but apparently it still is.
A 20-year-old student named Andrew Coffey was pledging a fraternity at Florida State University . . . and he DIED on Friday night at one of their events.
So the school took SERIOUS action yesterday . . . and every single fraternity and sorority on campus was suspended indefinitely.
The president of the university said, quote, "For this suspension to end, there will need to be a new normal for Greek life at the university. There must be a new culture, and our students must be full participants in creating it."
The police are investigating Andrew's death and say there are indicators that alcohol may have been a factor.
