#CrapOnCelebrities: George A. Romero Finally Joins the Living Dead, Billie Joe Armstrong Forms Supergroup, Someone Says Jennifer Lawrence Not Pretty Enough to Play Sharon Tate AND MORE!
Old-school actor MARTIN LANDAU died in L.A. on Saturday afternoon. Supposedly, he experienced some unexpected complications while being hospitalized for an undisclosed reason. He was 89. Martin won a Best Supporting Actor Oscar for playing Bela Lugosi in Tim Burton's "Ed Wood". His other movies included Alfred Hitchcock's "North by Northwest", "The Greatest Story Ever Told", "Cleopatra","Tucker: The Man and His Dream", and the Woody Allen movie "Crimes and Misdemeanors". He also starred on the "Mission: Impossible" TV series and on an old sci-fi show called "Space: 1999".
Legendary horror movie director GEORGE A. ROMERO died in his sleep yesterday . . . after a, quote, "brief but aggressive battle with lung cancer." He was 77. He reportedly passed while listening to the score of "The Quiet Man" from 1952, which was one of his favorite movies. George was most famous for his zombie apocalypse movies . . . beginning with "Night of the Living Dead" in 1968. He also did "Dawn of the Dead" in '78, "Day of the Dead" in '85, and later "Land of the Dead", "Diary of the Dead", and "Survival of the Dead". Some of his other movies include: "The Crazies" in 1973, "Martin" in 1978, "Creepshow" in 1982, "Monkey Shines" in 1988, and "The Dark Half" in 1993. And . . . Romero CREATED the modern zombie. The infectious bite . . . shoot the head . . . everything." By the way, Romero wasn't a fan of "The Walking Dead" and the recent zombie resurgence. He once said, quote, "['The Walking Dead' is] just a soap opera with a zombie occasionally. I always used the zombie as a character for satire or a political criticism, and I find that missing in what's happening now."
We mentioned sadly, "Walking Dead" stuntman John Bernecker DID die after his tragic fall last week. He died after falling 22 feet from a balcony and landing headfirst onto a concrete floor, “just inches” away from padding that was the intended landing target. The Occupational Safety and Health Administration and SAG-AFTRA are investigating the death.
The investigation was opened Friday and could take six months to complete.
AARON CARTER was arrested for DUI after being pulled over at 9:00 P.M. in Georgia on Saturday. Technically, he was arrested for SUSPICION of DUI, because he refused a breathalyzer and drug testing. He was hit with three misdemeanors: DUI . . . possession of less than one ounce of marijuana . . . and possession of "drug related objects." His girlfriend Madison Parker was also in the car, and she was arrested and charged with obstruction and two drug related charges. They've both posted bond and have been released. Aaron was supposed to be performing in Kansas City on Saturday night, around the time he was pulled over in Georgia. But several hours before, his people Tweeted, quote, "Due to transportation issues, Aaron will not make his set time tonight in Kansas City." This is Aaron's first DUI arrest . . . and it had some AMAZING timing. Just FIVE DAYS before the arrest, Aaron was talking to the paparazzi about Shia LaBeouf's drunken arrest, and he said… For what it's worth, Aaron claims he was being TARGETED because he's a celebrity. In a statement on Twitter, he said he was "aggressively" arrested inside an Auto Zone, after he went there looking for help with his car. He said he has a medical license for the marijuana, and was "not in a moving vehicle while arrested and charged with DUI." He also took an angry swipe at his brother Nick, who made it sound like Aaron DID need help. Nick had Tweeted, quote, "To my brother: I love you no matter what, and if you feel the need to reach for help, I'm here and willing to help you get better."
According to the group called Movieguide, there are 30-and-half profanities in Spider-Man: Homecoming, the half owed to a partial uttering of the F-word. Despite positive reviews and a domestic $117 million opening weekend, the group warns of negative consequences to all that swearing in the Marvel movie from Columbia Pictures. According to Movieguide's study, when adjusted for inflation, no superhero film with more than 25 curse words cracks the Top 100 movies in terms of box-office revenue. They say that Captain America: Civil War, Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2, Deadpool and Suicide Squad each contained more than 25 curse words, and they come in at Nos. 120, 140, 157 and 199, respectively, after adjusting for inflation. Movieguide also says that the first three Spider-Man movies featured far less cursing and averaged $526 million at the domestic box office, and it predicts the newest one won't come close to that figure. "The earlier Spider-Man movies were consciously appealing to greater principles, such as, 'With great power comes great responsibility.' Homecoming, however, seems to be trying too hard to appeal to the lowest common denominator," says Dr. Ted Baehr, head of Movieguide. "If this continues in Marvel movies, the brand will ultimately be tarnished, and a generation of young audience members will be taught that political correctness, vulgarity and profanity are cool."
JAY-Z sold 262,000 copies of his new album "4:44" in its first week for sale, and that was enough to take the #1 spot on the Billboard 200. It's his 14th time topping the chart, which extends his own record for most #1 albums by a solo artist. And he'll have that record for a while. Bruce Springsteen and Barbra Streisand are tied for second with 11 apiece . . . and they aren't spring chickens. Overall, The Beatles have the most, with 19 #1 albums. Technically, this was the second week that "4:44" was out. But it was a Tidal exclusive for Week One, and since Tidal doesn't report any data from it, Billboard ignored it.

This is a bit harsh. Sharon Tate’s sister Debra Tate, she is 64, is saying that Jennifer Lawrence simply isn’t pretty enough to play her. Quentin Tarantino is reportedly deciding between Jennifer Lawrence and Margot Robbie as the lead in a movie he is working on about the 1969 Manson Family murders. Sharon, the wife of Roman Polanski, was infamously murdered when she was eight months pregnant with their son. She has been described in reports about the film as the focus of the storyline.
Debra tells TMZ: “She's not pretty enough to play Sharon. My pick would be Margot simply because of her physical beauty and even the way she carries herself is similar to Sharon. “I don’t think as much about Jennifer Lawrence. Not that I have anything against her. But she just, I don’t know, she’s not pretty enough to play Sharon. That’s a horrible thing to say, but I have my standards.” Manson and some of his followers were convicted in 1971 for the murders of Tate and four others who were at her home at the time, and the killing of two others two days later. They remain behind bars in California.

I only say this because it makes me laugh… Farrah Abraham flipped her house after a year of trying and took a nice loss. She sold her 4 bed, 4 bath, 2 story townhouse in the Hollywood Hills for $860,000 ... after changing the asking price at least 3 times. Problem is, she bought it in April 2016 for $845k and plunked down about $100k in renovations.
She tried to sell for $950k just months after moving in but didn't have any takers, so she kept dropping the price until it sold.
Carmen Electra no longer feels safe in her own home after a man showed up there ... convinced he's engaged to marry her. Daniel Lablanc showed up at her house back in June. She noticed him sitting in his car outside her house, and after a while she got worried and called cops. Law enforcement took Lablanc into custody for mental evaluation. Lablanc's friends say he has anger issues, and frequently got angry when anyone tried to convince him Carmen isn't his fiancée. Carmen got an emergency protective order forcing him to stay 100 yards away, but it expired July 7. We're told she's filing for a restraining order.
