#CrapOnCelebrities: Dolores O'Riordan passed away at age 46, Simone Biles comes forward about sexual abuse, find out what happened when Paris Jackson gave a couple hitchhikers a ride, and MORE!
DOLORES O'RIORDAN from the Irish rock band THE CRANBERRIES passed away suddenly yesterday. She was only 46. There's no cause of death yet. Her body was found at a hotel in Westminster, England early in the morning, and she was pronounced dead at the scene. Her publicist says she was in London for a recording session . . . but she didn't say anything beyond that. Friends say that Dolores had been, quote, "dreadfully depressed" in recent weeks, and was also suffering from back pain. She did feel a little better by the end of the year, and did some small gigs. Dolores O'Riordan talks in an interview last year about her back problems, and The Cranberries' future plans. Naturally, the future of the Cranberries is in serious doubt, since Dolores was not only the singer, but the lyricist and primary songwriter. Cranberries music sales started surging. Just take a look at her sales online ... which are up over 900,000%. One of The Cranberries' albums, "Something Else" surging at 913,350% in sales. The Cranberries formed in 1990, and put out five albums before going on hiatus in 2003. Dolores released two solo albums in the following six years . . . and in 2009, The Cranberries reunited. Technically, they've been together ever since . . . although they didn't do much in the five years before putting out the album last spring.
HLN commentator ASHLEIGH BANFIELD is NOT sympathetic to that AZIZ ANSARI's accuser. She says the woman just had an "unpleasant" encounter that she admitted Aziz apologized for. She added, quote, "The #MeToo movement has righted a lot of wrongs and it has made your career path much smoother . . . what a gift. Yet, you looked that gift horse in the mouth and chiseled away at that powerful movement with your public accusation." She also called the woman's allegations "reckless and hollow."
On CBS Sunday Morning, Sharon Stone was asked by reporter Lee Cowan if she'd ever experienced sexual harassment during her career. The 59-year-old actress replied by cackling for 10 seconds straight. "I've been in this business for 40 years, Lee," she declared. "Can you imagine the business I stepped into 40 years ago, looking like I look? I'm from Nowhere, Pennysylvania. I didn't come here with any protection. I have seen it all." Stone's lengthy laugh quickly went viral and viewers applauded her for being so blunt. "Cannot stop watching @sharonstone’s response to being asked whether she’s ever faced sexual harassment," one fan tweeted.
CATHERINE ZETA-JONES stands by her husband MICHAEL DOUGLAS against sexual harassment allegations. And she says both she and Michael support the #MeToo movement.
SIMONE BILES has added her name to the list of women who say they were sexually abused by former USA Gymnastics doctor Larry Nassar. She is the latest to come forward with allegations against Nassar -- joining like McKayla Maroney, Aly Raisman and Gabby Douglas. There are reportedly more than 100 victims. Back in November, Nassar pled guilty to 7 counts of criminal sexual conduct. The sentencing phase of the case begins I think today actually. He has already been sentenced to 60 years in prison for child porn.
LEONARDO DICAPRIO will star in QUENTIN TARANTINO's next movie, which will have something do to with the Manson Family murders. Margot Robbie, Tom Cruise, and Brad Pitt might also join the cast. This will be Leo and Quentin's second movie together, after "Django Unchained" No other info although it does have an August of 2019 release date.
Movie theaters were banned in the early '80s under pressure from strict Islamists . . . but Saudi Arabia has been catching up with the times more and more over the past year or so. They even let women drive now. They lifted the ban on movie theaters, and what did they choose to celebrate it with? "The Emoji Movie". That steaming pile of waste was one of a few feature-length, animated children's films that screened in a temporary theater this weekend. Legit movie theaters are also part of that plan. And let's be honest . . . as bad as "The Emoji Movie" was, it had to be a thrill for these people just to experience a night out at the movies.
Creed has found his opponent. German-Romanian boxer Florian Munteanu will fight Michael B. Jordan in Creed 2, the sequel to the 2015 hit that updated Rocky. They areset to begin shooting in March in Philadelphia. Creed starred Sylvester Stallone as boxer Rocky Balboa, who mentors Adonis Johnson (Jordan), the son of his rival, Apollo Creed. Munteanu will play the son of Ivan Drago, the ruthless Soviet boxer from Rocky IV. Dolph Lundgren starred as Drago in the 1985 film and will also be returning for Creed 2. Stallone and Tessa Thompson, who starred in Creed, are also returning.
Paris Jackson posted a video on social media, where she talked about how she gave a couple of hitchhikers a ride across L.A. the night before. She said the one girl was, quote, "pretty [effed] up," so she put her own socks on her . . . and took them to a fast food joint to get them some dinner. And the girl repaid her generosity by STEALING HER DEBIT CARD. Paris didn't elaborate . . . so it's unclear whether they were actually able to use it before she reported it.
Eliza Dushku’s allegations that she was molested by stunt coordinator Joel Kramer on the set of True Lies when she was 12 years old were corroborated by her legal guardian at the time. Sue Booth-Forbes, who was assigned to protect her on-set when Dushku’s mother was not able to join her, said it did happen. She said that she reported his behavior but that no action was taken. “I was met with blank stares and had the sense that I wasn’t telling that person anything they didn’t already know,” she said.
KEVIN SPACEY has been accused of a lot of despicable things . . . and now we can add RACISM to the allegations. Earl Blue owns VIP Protective Services . . . a company hired to provide security on the set of "House of Cards" in 2012. And he says Kevin was openly racist to black employees. He says Kevin refused to acknowledge them, wouldn't shake hands with them, and was once overheard saying, quote, "I don't want [N-words] watching my trailer." Earl says that when he complained, he was told, quote, "That's just the way he is; we've got to keep him happy." And even though producers were happy with their work, VIP's contract was NOT renewed . . . supposedly because Spacey wanted them fired. Earl says this cost the company MILLIONS, and he plans to sue Kevin.
Will Oprah run for president? Very doubtful but lets make sure we can make money off it if she does right? An Arizona man applied for the rights to use "NOprah" earlier this month on shirts, jackets, shoes, pants and other garments ... presumably to sell. He is being identified as Lewis and he filed for the "NOprah" trademark because he saw a swirl of opposition to a possible O run. He says enough already with celebs as presidents. Lewis says he's not sure if he wants to start selling the clothing now, or wait until the 'Oprah for Prez' thing is more of a reality.
During a recent radio interview, musician, DJ, producer, Moby claimed that he has “friends in the intelligence community” who’ve told him that President Trump is a Russian agent. "About a year ago, we were having dinner, and they were really concerned,” the electronic artist said of dining with his secret spy sources. “They were like, 'This is the Manchurian Candidate, like [Russian President Vladimir Putin] has a Russian agent as the President of the United States.’ So they passed on some information to me and they said, like, 'Look, you have more of a social media following than any of us do. Can you please post some of these things?'" In a Facebook post Saturday, Moby laughed off the notion that he made these remarks at the CIA’s behest, but didn’t back off his claims.
Mel Gibson’s ex-girlfriend Oksana Grigorieva claims the domestic violence she suffered from while with Gibson left her with post-traumatic stress disorder, and claims the legal stress she endured contributed to the development of a tumor. Court documents show she has “been diagnosed with PTSD due to domestic violence and the protracted, expensive and difficult paternity battle I had to endure.” Gibson was charged with misdemeanor battery against her and ultimately cut a plea deal with prosecutors in 2011. Along with PTSD, she says the whole ordeal actually caused her to grow a tumor near her brain. She says the only subsequent change in the paternity case was the court order for rent free accommodation to her daughter and herself as compensation for domestic violence. She filed as part of her fight with an accounting firm that claims she owes them $108,000 for work done during her paternity battle with Gibson.
Someone's selling a crusty paper cup that might've once touched Elvis Presley's lips and there are people already willing to drop over $150 for it. The cup's supposedly from his first concert in Tulsa, Oklahoma in 1956. Elvis was only 21 at the time and played his first show there in April of that year. The cup was supposedly taken from him at his hotel by a woman named June who then kept it in a box with his autographed picture for decades. Is it authentic or not ... the nearly 62-year-old cup comes with a letter of authenticity and notebook full of supporting "research" ... which includes a few pictures of Elvis WITH the cup. It's being sold on eBay and, as of late Monday, the high bid was $157. The seller is optimistic they'll get $1,000 for it though.
There are so many '70s, '80s, and even '90s acts touring together these days . . . but very few of them have this kind of star power: DEF LEPPARD and JOURNEY are hitting the road together in May. There hasn't been an official announcement yet, and no dates have been released. In an Instagram post, guitarist NEAL SCHON said, quote, "Journey and Def Leppard comin' soon!"
BET will be airing a documentary series called "Death Row Chronicles", beginning February 20th. That night, the first two parts will premiere, and there will be six altogether. It features never-before-seen footage and an interview from someone who witnessed the murder of Tupac Shakur in Las Vegas in 1996.
