Crap on Celebrities
#CrapOnCelebrities: A death in Hollywood, did Nick Carter rape a woman years ago and why the founder of Pixar is now stepping down.
DAVID CASSIDY died yesterday at the age of 67 of complications from dementia. Not a surprise. Over the weekend, he was hospitalized in Florida, Ocala Florida which probably didn’t help. And his organs were failing. He said he had dementia back in February. David became a 'teen idol' because of his starring role on "The Partridge Family" back in the '70s. He played Keith, the son of Shirley Partridge, who was played by his real-life stepmom Shirley Jones. He parlayed that into a singing career, going out on tour singing both Partridge songs as well as originals. Some of his biggest hits were "Cherish", "How Can I Be Sure", "I Think I Love You", and "I Write the Songs", which later became Barry Manilow's signature song. Last handful of years he really struggled with alcoholism and substance abuse. He was arrested for DUI three times between 2010 and 2014. He also filed for bankruptcy in 2015. In 2011, he did "Celebrity Apprentice", but he was the first to be fired. He regularly toured . . . and occasionally took on TV roles, Broadway productions, and Vegas shows. He was married and divorced three times, and had two kids.
CHARLIE ROSE did NOT get a pass from his former "CBS This Morning" co-hosts GAYLE KING and NORAH O'DONNELL yesterday. They still seemed pretty shocked by it all, but they praised the women who came forward. Here's Gayle King, on Colbert, talking about how she's been feeling since the news came out (AUDIO) Meanwhile, Charlie was officially fired from both CBS and PBS yesterday . . . when the paparazzi caught up with Charlie and asked him to comment on his "wrongdoings". He said, quote, "It's not wrongdoings."
NICK CARTER of the BACKSTREET BOYS has been accused of raping MELISSA SCHUMAN, who used to be in the girl group DREAM. She says he raped her when she was 18 and he was 22. That would have been around 15 years ago. Nick has yet to respond.
36 women who worked with AL FRANKEN on "Saturday Night Live" released a statement defending him, and saying they never experienced any inappropriate behavior with him. They said what he did to LEEANN TWEEDEN was "stupid and foolish", but noted that he apologized. Two of the women who signed the letter were original "SNL" cast members JANE CURTIN and LARRAINE NEWMAN. ARIANNA HUFFINGTON also defended Al, after pictures of him groping her during a photo shoot in 2000 surfaced. She told the "New York Post" there was nothing inappropriate about it, and they were just, quote, "hamming it up for comedic effect."
JOHN LASSETER, the founder of Pixar and the head of Disney Animation, has been accused of sexual harassment by several "anonymous sources" who have worked for him. One claims that actress RASHIDA JONES left the writing staff of "Toy Story 4" because he made an unwanted advance. Rashida denies it. But Rashida isn't the only alleged victim. Many are saying Lasseter was a well-known hugger . . . but he often took things too far. He was also known for, quote, "grabbing, kissing, and making comments about physical attributes." Other sources told "Variety" that the environment at Pixar is "toxic" for women . . . who are often told to watch out for Lasseter when they start working there. And they say it's been going on for more than two decades. Lasseter announced to his staff yesterday that he's taking a leave of absence. He didn't address any specific allegations, but he said, quote, "I've recently had a number of difficult conversations that have been very painful for me. "It's never easy to face your missteps, but it's the only way to learn from them."
MELISSA GILBERT says that when she auditioned for the movie "The Doors", OLIVER STONE gave her a humiliating scene where she was on all fours, and he asked her to act it out for him. He had me read a scene," Gilbert said. "I had auditioned, and then he said: ‘I’ve written this special scene for you. I’d like you to do it with the actor. I want to see the chemistry with the two of you.’ "The whole scene was just my character on her hands and knees saying, ‘Do me, baby.’ Really dirty, horrible," Gilbert said. "Then he said, 'I'd like you to stage it for me.'” She said she declined and left. “I left crying, and I never really talked about it," she told Cohen. "It was all because I had said something and embarrassed him publicly." The role eventually went to Meg Ryan.
"The Force Awakens" has that reputation of being a little "similar" to the original "Star Wars" movie from 1977? So are fans are getting a little carried away in thinking that the new trilogy will follow the blueprint of the first one? That's probably why some have speculated that BILLY DEE WILLIAMS shows up as Lando Calrissian in the second movie, "The Last Jedi" . . . just like he was introduced in "The Empire Strikes Back", the second movie of the original trilogy. Sorry . . . not happening. The director says he is not in the film. He says it would have been fun to see him, but it's just not something that ever really had a place in the story." FYI, Billy Dee IS available if there's room for him in the third installment. His rep says, quote, "Billy respects the studio and all involved in the decision but would be happy to be in any future 'Star Wars' film if asked." He's 80 years old.

Actor Sacha Baron Cohen has offered to pay the fines for six Czech tourists who were reportedly detained by authorities in Kazakhstan’s capital Astana for dressing up as his character Borat. “To my Czech mates who were arrested,” Baron Cohen wrote on Facebook Tuesday. “Send me your details and proof that it was you, and I’ll pay your fine.” The AP reports that the men wore the lime green “mankinis” and black wigs--similar to Baron Cohen’s look in the 2006 movie--while taking pictures in front of the “I Love Astana” sign in early November. Local police fined them $68 each for committing "minor hooliganism."
Tyrese was accused by his now ex Norma of brutally disciplining their daughter, but the judge didn't buy it. He regained 50/50 custody of his daughter, with conditions including: -- Neither Tyrese nor Norma Gibson can use corporal punishment in disciplining 10-year-old Shayla.-- Tyrese must take parenting classes focused on appropriate disciplining of his daughter.-- Both Tyrese and Norma must enroll in "high conflict parenting classes."-- Tyrese and Shayla must enroll in joint therapy with a psychologist. Shayla must also undergo individual counseling. According to the order, Tyrese has Shayla for both XMAS and New Year's -- and all of his visits with her must be spent in Southern California ... until April 30. Plus he had to submit finacials to the court. The actor pulls in $105,686 every month. That's sweet, except when you look at what he spends. Tyrese says his monthly nut is $107,576, which puts him in the red. The docs say he has $884,658 in the bank. He also has real property worth around $1.7 mil. Charles Manson made several phone calls to a documentary film crew in the final year of his life which they're now releasing to the public.
It’s called "Charles Manson: The Final Words." It was initially scheduled to come out in 2018, but the network decided to bump that up since ya know he is dead and all. There is lots of phone calls with Manson from Corcoran State Prison -- the most recent one in July. Rob Zombie narrates. Apparently it looks at a new theory behind why the murders happened. And a scary look at hiscult through his eyes leading up to his death. 'Final Words' airs December 3 on REELZ.
MARILYN MANSON's real name is Brian Warner. He literally took the second half of his stage name from Charles Manson. So it's his own damn fault that some Einsteins out there now thinks he's DEAD. It's hard to tell who's just trying to be funny and who's legitimately confused, but people are Tweeting pictures of Marilyn, and saying stuff like, "Charles Manson is dead . . . but his music will live on" . . . and "It is so sad to see all these music icons pass." He did mark Charles Manson's death with a link to his own cover of "Sick City". (AUDIO). PAUL STANLEY who tweeted…"[It's] pathetic when somebody who’s career never really took off is desperate enough to try for publicity by connecting himself to the news of a murdering scumbag’s death.
Remember that autograph session OJ Simpson did recently? Ron Goldman's father Fred would like to have a chat with OJ…in front of a judge. He says OJ is getting rich and hiding the money that Fred rightfully is owed him and the Brown family. Fred says the first available hearing date isn't until July 3, 2018 ... which he says is way too far away. He believes in that 7-month span O.J. "could flood the market with sports memorabilia" and try to keep all the money for himself. O.J. says the secret autograph session he held in October was a one-off ... and he's just trying to "readjust to civilian life." O.J. says even though he's had a lot of money-making offers ... he's rejected all of them except for that one autograph session.
