#CrapOnCelebrities: A couple deaths in Hollywood to talk about, more Harvey Weinstein news and what bands did you love growing up?
"Trailer Park Boys" actor John F. Dunsworth -- who played Jim Lahey on the show -- has died after a brief and unexpected illness. John was a part of the show's original cast, and played a former cop-turned-security supervisor at Sunnyvale Trailer Park. He broke into show biz as a casting director in the late '80s before making it big on the Canadian comedy. "Trailer Park Boys" has been on air for 11 seasons.
Dunsworth was 71.
In 2014, 58 year old Phillip Reitnour and Jason Friedberg pitched their business idea to the investors on the Shark Tank. They were seeking $250,000 in exchange for 10 percent ownership of their app EmergenSee. EmergenSee is a personal safety app, which according to the company, is a personal security system that can instantly notify loved ones or first responders via live stream video and GPS data if the user finds themselves in any type of danger. Reitnour said at the time, the app was popular with real estate agents who show homes to strangers. The Sharks declined to invest in the company. Sadly, things seemed to go downhill for Reitnour. His body was just recovered from a river in Philadelphia. Apparently it was a gun shot wound to the forehead. Court records reveal that he was $3 million in debt and he was being sued at the time of his death.
The Weinstein Company is in talks to sell to Colony Capital. The movie and TV production house is still reeling from the ever-expanding sexual assault and rape allegations against its founder, Harvey Weinstein.
The Producers Guild of America has become the latest Hollywood organization to condemn Harvey Weinstein, moving to expel him in a meeting on Monday. They voted unanimously to "institute termination proceedings" against Weinstein. Weinstein will have an opportunity to respond before an official determination is made on Nov. 6. A similar vote by the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences board happened on Saturday, and the suspension of Weinstein's membership in its British academy counterpart, or BAFTA has happened too. The Television Academy will be discussing Weinstein's status later this week.
On Sunday, ALYSSA MILANO started the hashtag "MeToo", as a way for people to identify themselves as victims of sexual harassment or assault. And in 24 hours, it had been Tweeted almost 500,000 times.
America Ferrera, currently on Superstore, she is 33 years old now, revealed she was sexually assaulted as a young girl. In an Instagram post last night as part of the #MeToo movement, in which women share their stories of sexual harassment or assault, and revealed her story of being attacked by an older man she knew. “First time I can remember being sexually assaulted I was 9-years-old,” she wrote. “I told no one and lived with the shame and guilt thinking all along that I, a 9-year-old child, was somehow responsible for the actions of a grown man.” Whats worse is she had to see him everyday as it was someone she knew and was in her life.
Martha Stewart has now opened up about her experience with harassment in the industry. She was 16-year-old working as a model and attending a “go-see” audition for a job. She was told to wera a bikini under her clothes. She assumed it was a beach commercial or something. She got into the room and there’s a table with all men sitting around it. They said, ‘Now you can take your clothes off,’ and she said, ‘Oh, is this where are we doing the commercial? Are we wearing bikinis in the commercial.’ They said, ‘No, but as long as you’re here we might as well see what you look like.’ She was 16 and the media mogul is now 76. She felt something was wrong and said no thanks and left.
WOODY ALLEN wants to clarify that when he said he felt "sad" for Harvey Weinstein, he meant that Harvey is, quote, "a sad, sick man."
Lauren Holly says Harvey Weinstein was all business during a meeting in his hotel room ... right up until the moment he ripped off his suit and went to the bathroom in front of her. She says it went down in the late '90s. Holly says she wasn't worried about going to Weinstein's hotel room for the meeting -- she says that was common, and he was fully dressed when she arrived. They spoke at length about possible roles, and right in the middle of the conversation he stripped and used the bathroom in front of her. Despite being nude in front of her, she says he never stopped talking business ... even when he jumped in the shower. However, she says it turned ominous and terrifying when he got out of the shower.
KAYA JONES was briefly a member of the PUSSYCAT DOLLS, when they put out their first album back in 2005 . . . and over the weekend, she had some harsh words about the experience. She Tweeted, "I wasn't in a girl group. I was in a prostitution ring, [who] happened to sing and be famous. While everyone who owned us made the money." She said they only got $500 a week. But the prostitution thing isn't just an analogy. In another interview, she said she left because she felt pressured to have sex with music industry executives. Quote, "To be a part of the team you must be a team player. Meaning sleep with whoever they say." The founder of the Pussycat Dolls Robin Antin says these are, quote, "disgusting, ridiculous lies."
GWYNETH PALTROW's Goop brand has just been given an award. But probably not one she'd be happy to get. Goop received something called the Rusty Razor award from a British magazine called "The Skeptic". This award is given out to the best peddler of JUNK SCIENCE. From those "jade eggs" women are supposed to carry around in their hot pockets to the "bio frequency healing" stickers that were condemned by NASA, nobody promotes GARBAGE like Goop. The editor of "The Skeptic" says, quote, "We were surprised at quite how many public vote nominations GOOP received for the 'Rusty Razor' award for pseudoscience. It's certainly a popular win."

British actor ROY DOTRICE died yesterday at the age of 94. He played Wisdom on"Game of Thrones". He also narrated and voiced the characters in the audio versions of the first few books in "A Song of Fire and Ice" . . . the books the show is based on. When he did the first book, he got into the Guinness Book of World Records for the greatest number of characters voiced by a single actor in an audiobook: 224. Roy was also Mozart's dad in the movie "Amadeus", Zeus on "Hercules", and Vincent's adoptive Father on the '80s TV series "Beauty and the Beast". For those of who didn't know, GEORGE R.R. MARTIN once worked as a writer on that show. Before he became an actor, Roy served in the Royal Air Force during World War 2, and spent time in a German POW camp.
Most people tend to use the front door when it comes to tricks or treats on Halloween, but Farrah Abraham's going around the back.
Farrah's signed on for another live porn show for CamSoda the day before Halloween but with a literal twist ... she'll be performing anal ... with a toy. Her last show was hugely successful, drawing 80,000 onlookers which caused the site to crash. CamSoda expects even more people to tune into Farrah's anal cam show on October 30 and says they'll be getting extra support to prevent the site from going down again. It'll just be Farrah on the screen, no one else but the occasional toy. It's her way of promoting her new show on MTV, "Single AF."
One of Elvis Presley's beloved pieces -- a Smith & Wesson -- can be yours, but it's gonna take a king's ransom to get it! See what we did there? Elvis' .38 caliber Smith & Wesson Chief Special revolver is now for sale through Moments in Time -- and it's going for a whopping $95,000 ... first come, first served. The gun was originally purchased by The King himself at a Memphis gun shop in 1971 ... where the paperwork shows he also bought 5 other revolvers the same day. Elvis was a low-key gun nut, who often unloaded on his TVs. Elvis had this particular firearm engraved with his T.C.B. lighting bolt logo -- which stood for Taking Care of Business in a flash. We're told he eventually gifted the gun to his bodyguard, but it's unclear if Elvis ever used it. Either way, folks ... it's now or never! Yup, we did it again.
Elvis Presley Enterprises runs a disease-infested hotel where the water is full of bacteria infiltrating guests' lungs ... according to a new lawsuit.
The company that runs all things Elvis has just been sued by Jennifer Walker, who says she stayed at the Guest House at Graceland this summer -- and contracted Legionnaires' disease during the vacay. Walker says she spent a lot of time at the hotel pool and hot tub and started suffering symptoms of the chronic lung affliction -- such as coughing, difficulty breathing and loss of appetite -- and was diagnosed with Legionnaires' later that same month. According to the suit, a county health department investigation of the hotel -- which is right next to Graceland -- found the sprinkler system tested positive for Legionnella bacteria. There have been other deaths allegedly tied to an outbreak at the hotel, and EPE is already facing a wrongful death lawsuit.
Walker is suing for negligence and wants an unspecified amount in damages. To be clear, she is not suing Elvis' estate or the actual Graceland property.
Kathy Griffin claims she has been black balled in Hollywood. She has some email proof too. The Hollywood Reporter invited her to speak at its annual Women in Entertainment Power 100 event this year. She posted the email they sent on Sept. 26 offering her the gig -- but just last week she was told no thank you. She claims she has ZERO paying gigs lined up “in the United States for the rest of my life” Worth noting though -- Kathy was notified last Thursday she'd no longer be speaking. That was just 4 days after she entered a fundraising gig while wearing a Trump mask and waving both middle fingers.
Judith Light adores her husband of 32 years, Robert Desiderio, and credits their happiness to living apart. “It’s been the best,” the 68-year-old actress told People Magazine Monday. “I highly recommend it.” She says that he loves the West Coast, while she adores NYC. “He loves California, and I would never ask him to leave there and he would never ask me to leave here,” she explained. “Now, mind you, I go back and I shoot Transparent and I’m there four or five months, so I’m there all the time, so when I’m done there, I come back here and he’s flying here today, so we’re going to be together for a few days and then I’ll go back to California, so it really is this kind of supportive … we’re on each other’s team.” Would you want to live apart from your partner?
ED SHEERAN hurt himself on a bike ride. He posted a photo yesterday of his right arm in a cast . . . and his left in a sling. He captioned it, quote, "I've had a bit of a bicycle accident . . . and I'm currently waiting on some medical advice, which may affect some of my upcoming shows. Please stay tuned." Ed has 15 shows in Asia beginning this Sunday, but if those get postponed, he doesn't have anything else booked until next March. He performs solo, with just a guitar and a loop pedal . . . and he's said he has no desire to play with a band. So, unless it isn't as bad as it seems, he'll probably have to postpone the upcoming shows.
Remember this amazing audio of Lawrence O’Donnell of NBC losing his temper? (AUDIO) Well NBC has fired the staffer who leaked that video. They only said it was a male and the leaked HD video. It turned out to be a ‘Today’ show editor who said he did it because he thought it was funny. But it wasn’t exactly the perfect crime — he left a very clear trail.” The video was slipped to Mediaite as a broadcast-quality digital clip — and that only a handful of people are believed to be capable of accessing and transmitting such a file.He had left a clear digital trail that allowed NBC to track him down.
Kevin James said his sitcom Kevin Can Wait killed off his on-screen wife because they “were literally just running out of ideas.” In an interview with the New York Daily News, James offered the insight into the controversial firing of actress Erinn Hayes, who played his wife. She was essentially replaced by Leah Remini, who played his wife on the long-running sitcom The King Of Queens. (Remini stepped in as James’ coworker at a private security company on the show. James went on to say that the change was necessary to open up story lines.“The plot of the show didn’t have enough drive,” he told the Daily News. “If we got through a second season, I wouldn’t see us getting through a third one. We were literally just running out of ideas.” Kevin Can Wait airs on CBS on Mondays at 9 p.m
The disgraced Glee star Mark Salling may have attempted suicide before pleading guilty to possession of child pornography, TMZ reports. According to the website, Salling attempted to slit his wrists on August 22nd. Salling, 35, then allegedly panicked and screamed at the site of his own blood, which led his roommate to call 911. Paramedics responded and took Salling to the hospital by ambulance. He went through a psych evaluation and spent time in rehab afterwards. Salling has been photographed a number of time in long sleeves, despite the hot weather in L.A. His lawyers contest the report, telling Page Six: “The TMZ story is incorrect, plain and simple. Mark is physically healthy, and he is focused on atonement, accepting responsibility, and learning from his past mistakes.” Salling is scheduled to serve between four and seven years in prison.
