#CrapOnCelebrities: A big Hollywood death, another Kardashian ripping someone off? And HBO hacked again
Acclaimed actor, director, and playwright Sam Shepard is dead at age 73. His family said he had been suffering from Lou Gehrig's disease, per the New York Times. Shepard won the 1979 Pulitzer Prize for Drama for his play Buried Child and earned an Oscar nomination for Best Supporting Actor for his role in 1983's The Right Stuff. He was in a TON of movies . . . you might remember him as Chuck Yeager in "The Right Stuff", the bad FBI agent in "Thunderheart", or the small town veterinarian in "Baby Boom" with Diane Keaton. He was also one of the greatest American playwrights, and won the Pulitzer Prize. "True West" and "Fool for Love" were his two most famous plays . . . "Fool for Love" basically launched the acting careers of John Malkovich and Gary Sinise.
Kim Kardashian's use and promotion of an illuminated smartphone case is totally ripping off the guy who invented it, and he says he has receipts to prove it ... according to a $100 million lawsuit. Kim's company ... Kimsaprincess, Inc. got slapped with the suit Monday -- a guy named Hooshmand Harooni says he got a patent back in 2013 for an "integrated lighting accessory and case for a mobile phone device." If that sounds familiar, that's because it's a perfect description of the LuMee. . Kim says it helps her take perfectly lit selfies -- obviously, a major asset in her world. Problem is ... Harooni licensed his invention to a company called Snaplight, which is now getting buried in sales. Snaplight and Harooni say LuMee jacked their patented technology, and made it an unfair fight by teaming up with a supreme trendsetter like Kim. The company says $100 million will cover its lost profits. A rep for the Kardashians tells TMZ, "The patent lawsuit filed by Snap Light has no merit and is just another attempted shakedown. Kim has done absolutely nothing wrong."
That's a wrap for Anthony Scaramucci-- he's officially out as White House Communications Director after only 10 days on the job.
There are conflicting reports as to whether Donald Trump fired him or if Mooch tendered his own resignation -- but the bottom line is he's done.
Scaramucci's time as Communications Director is believed to be the shortest run in White House history.
It's shorter than Kim Kardashian's marriage to Kris Humphries (72 days).
It's shorter than the run of "Doubt" on CBS (2 weeks).
It's shorter than Conan O'Brien's tenure on 'The Tonight Show' (7 months).
It's shorter than El Chapo's time on the run after escaping prison (7 months).
It's shorter than the time the Chilean miners spent trapped (69 days).
It's LONGER than Carmen Electra's marriage to Dennis Rodman (9 days).
AND he is also going through a divorce.
13 Reasons Why is finding itself in the middle of a controversial debate about suicide once again. The Netflix series is co-produced by Selena Gomez, who has vigorously defended the show. Gomez has said it provides a forum for both suffering teens and their parents to discuss mental health, bullying and suicide. Critics, including some mental health experts and educators, say that the show may glamorize suicide to vulnerable young people with its relatable teen characters and its graphic depiction of suicide. Now a new research paper investigating the controversy by using Google search data has been put out by JAMA Internal Medicine. The study claims that online searches for terms related to suicide awareness and prevention have increased since the show’s release, but so have search terms associated with ideation. After the show premiered, the search term for “how to commit suicide” rose by 26%, while searches for “suicide prevention” went up 23%. In a statement to CNN, Netflix said: "We always believed this show would increase discussion around this tough subject matter. This is an interesting quasi experimental study that confirms this. We are looking forward to more research and taking everything we learn to heart as we prepare for season 2."
HBO has been hacked. They became the target of a major cyber attack on Monday, with upcoming episodes and scripts from several shows landing online, courtesy of hackers. Hackers have allegedly stolen 1.5 terabytes of data from HBO, and they’re threatening to continue to leak more.“HBO recently experienced a cyber incident, which resulted in the compromise of proprietary information,” the network confirmed in a statement to EW. “We immediately began investigating the incident and are working with law enforcement and outside cybersecurity firms. Data protection is a top priority at HBO, and we take seriously our responsibility to protect the data we hold.” So far, an unreleased episode of Ballers and Room 104 landed online. A script allegedly from next week’s fourth episode of Game of Thrones surfaced as well. The hackers sent out an email Sunday night alerting members of the media to their plans. “Hi to all mankind,” the email reads, according to EW. “The greatest leak of cyber space era is happening. What’s its name? Oh I forget to tell. Its HBO and Game of Thrones……!!!!!! You are lucky to be the first pioneers to witness and download the leak. Enjoy

One last note: BO DEREK made the list at #41 for the movie "Tommy Boy" in 1995. If you're wondering why she's not on there for the famous beach-running scene in "10", it's because she wasn't wearing a bikini. It was a one-piece.

JOHN RITTER's daughter Stella isn't Stella anymore. She's also not anyone's daughter anymore. Because she's transitioning to a GUY . . . and she has changed her name to Noah. Noah is the child of John Ritter and his widow AMY YASBECK. He started living as a man when he turned 18 almost a year ago. He even has facial hair thanks to hormone treatments. Sources say Noah's mom and half-brother JASON RITTER are totally supportive, and John would have been, too. Noah was only five years old when his father died in 2003.
It was confirmed on Monday that the highly-anticipated reboot of Roseanne will feature a “gender creative” character. According to Showbiz 411, the new version of the series will feature the son and daughter of Darlene (Sarah Gilbert) and David (Johnny Galecki). Specifically, the casting call for the couple’s 9-year-old Mark has asked for a kid who can play “sensitive and effeminate” and “displays qualities of both young female and male traits.” It was also revealed this week that Mark is named for his aunt Becky’s late husband. In real life, the actor who played the elder Mark--Glenn Quinn--died in 2002 from an opioid overdose.
I believe this to be a joke but…Yesterday, ARCADE FIRE said that their new album "Everything Now" was available on a limited-edition fidget spinner. It's a USB drive that's SHAPED like a fidget spinner . . . but it's unclear whether or not it could actually spin. They were selling it for the "low" price of $109. Of course, that didn't stop anyone from buying it. They sold out almost immediately . . . although there weren't many available to begin with, because most of them sold during a pre-sale last month. It's probably unlikely that they'll make any more of them . . . since there's a chance it was done as a joke, assuming these things even existed in the first place.
KATY PERRY is offering up some free tickets to her new tour . . . and all she's asking for is your time. She wants you to donate to the Boys & Girls Club of America. Fans who donate supplies are entered to win a pair of general admission tickets to her tour, and fans who actually volunteer at a local Boys & Girls Club will have a chance to win VIP tickets and a meet-and-greet with Katy. She says, quote, "Actions speak louder than Tweets. I think we're all looking for a way to make real change beyond just donating our loose change."
If R. KELLY is luring and trapping women into some sort of sex cult, he isn't ready to admit to it. He released a video over the weekend. This weekend's shows were his first since the sex cult report came out, and he wasn't playing it safe. He gave his usual, sexually-charged show, encouraging fans to touch him . . . and doing things like rubbing their phones on his crotch.
And now news of a chunk of his tour being canceled. Four of his 10 upcoming gigs were cut. Some say the cancellations were probably because of low ticket sales, but supposedly R. Kelly's people are saying there were scheduling conflicts. In any event, the remaining shows have plenty of tickets available.
Weeks ago, Dave Grohl put the rumor mill into overdrive when he announced that Foo Fighters upcoming album Concrete and Gold features "the biggest pop star in the world." In a new interview with Rolling Stone, the ex-Nirvana drummer somewhat cleared that up. "Neither Adele nor Taylor Swift sang on the record," Grohl now reveals, although he's still mum about which massive pop star he was talking about. For the record, Foo Fighters worked on Concrete and Gold at EastWest during a time when Lady Gaga, Justin Timberlake and Shania Twain were also recording at the studio. Grohl has shared that saxophonist Dave Koz, the Kills' Alison Mosshart and Boyz II Men's Shawn Stockman do appear.
Not all sex scenes are erotic. In fact, some of them aren't even the least bit titillating. Buzzfeed asked its users to name the most cringeworthy sex scenes of all time. Here are 10 of them . . .
1. Kyle MacLachlan and Elizabeth Berkley in the pool in "Showgirls".
2. Every single sex scene in "The Room". (Well, they don't call it the worst movie of all time for nothing.)
3. The hot dog and the bun getting it on at the end of "Sausage Party".
4. Jennifer Aniston and the "douche she dates" in "Friends with Money".
5. Angelina Jolie and Ethan Hawke in "Taking Lives".
6. (Careful!) Lily Collins getting a condom stuck . . . in there . . . in "Love, Rosie".
7. The sex scene in "Splice" where the chick sprouts wings.
8. The milking scene in "Neighbors".
9. Jason Biggs and Shannon Elizabeth in "American Pie" . . . even though it's SUPPOSED TO be cringeworthy.
10. The scene with the witch and the corn from "Troll 2".
CAROL BURNETT is starring in an upcoming Netflix show called "A Little Help with Carol Burnett", where she and her adult guests will share their problems with little kids, and the kids will offer them life advice. Obviously, it's meant to be funny. There's no word who her guests might be . . . but the panel of children will be between the ages of four and eight. Carol is 84 now, and she says, quote, "Someone once asked me how old I am inside. I thought about it, and [said], 'I'm about eight.' So it's going to be a lot of fun playing with kids my age." There's a trailer online where Carol is interviewing for the gig at Netflix, and her interviewer is a young boy who has no idea who she is.
