What years were you on-air with The Point?

February 15, 1993- 6/93, 7/94-4/96, 3/99-4/02

What was the name of your show?

The Afternoon Disc Drive

What features did you do on your show?

Trivia From Hell, Vinyl Vault(with Alex Luke) , Traffic with Major Backup, The Disc Drive Top 5

Who else was on the show with you?

Major Backup, Tim Virgin, Donny Fandango, Producer Scott( who wasn’t real but got blamed for dead air)

What were your most memorable experiences from your time on The Point?

The airstaff was a great group of friends and the interviews were amazing as well. Receiving the audition tape for an unknown Gravity Kills for the first Pointessential compilation, Ben Folds talking and playing in the studio, Matt Damon in Boston or Dave Grohl at the Grammys were great memories.

The most memorable, however, were with Tenacious D and Henry Rollins. Tenacious D were extremely hung over(possibly still drunk) and scarfing greasy food from the Hard Rock to recuperate. Jimmy Eat World was also in the studio with us and must have been talking too loudly for Jack Black, since he scolded them for “being too rambunctious”. Truly hilarious.

Henry Rollins was insulted because years before, unbeknownst to me, a program director dropped his latest single from the playlist. He then went to go on calling the Point a pussy station and we sparred for about 30 minutes straight. It was super tense and afterward, the Whipping Boy(who hadn’t heard the interview) made us stand together for a photo. Truly awkward.

What were your most memorable Pointfest experiences?

Seeing the Stone Roses play, interviewing Mick Jones with Big Audio Dynamite(original member of the Clash) and helping a very feeble Joey Ramone off the stage during guitar solos a short while before he died of cancer.

What are you up to now?

After leaving the Point in ’02, I went to work in Houston , got fired after a couple years,  came back and worked for a couple of other stations in STL and decided to leave radio altogether in 2008. Now in a complete 180, I help people plan for retirement as a financial advisor(stockbroker) with a company with their name on a dome
