Bethalto natives, all in their twenties, tried to pass off some fake money at Fast Eddies over the weekend.  The guys told the cops, "We just sold some pot to some strangers and they gave us this money."  Hey idiots, still not legal.  You ritards!

a 27-year-old man and his 22-year-old girlfriend face charges for robbing a Wendy's restaurant in Dearborn Heights, where the man's mother worked as a manager. Jason Zacchi and Amanda Yost were arraigned on Monday. Police say that while going through the drive-through, Zacchi threatened employees with a sawed-off shotgun while Yost was at the wheel. Zacchi's mother heard what was going on, and asked "what the hell are you doing" when she approached the window. She later helped police arrest him.

The Supreme Court agreed Monday to decide on the outer limits of free-speech protection for public protests and to rule on whether a dead soldier’s family can sue fringe religious protesters who picketed near their son’s funeral with signs that said, "Thank God for dead soldiers." A Maryland jury awarded $10 million in damages to Albert Snyder, whose son Matthew was killed in Iraq in March 2006. He had sued Fred Phelps, the founder of the Westboro Baptist Church in Topeka, Kan., who has traveled the country for 20 years leading controversial protests at funerals for American soldiers.

There's a rumor about this new website....TMZ Sports that's set to launch this year, a sports offshoot of the celebrity gossip website TMZ -- saying that it will out a gay male athlete. A writer for the Miami Herald said in his column that TMZ Sports will out a gay male athlete, he wrote, "It is the only boundary left to cross. It will either wreck that athlete's life or make him the next Jackie Robinson or maybe both. That's a pretty horrible thing to do to someone against their will, obviously. But an outraged America will punish the behavior by showering it with views, dollars and rewards."

Multiple NBA sources say Allen Iverson is facing alcohol and gambling issues that have derailed his career and threaten his post-basketball well-being.. According to multiple NBA sources, there is widespread concern that the Iverson, who left the Philadelphia 76ers in February to deal with his daughter's illness and will not return this season, "will either drink himself into oblivion or gamble his life away." Iverson's gambling problem is serious enough that he has been banished from casinos in Detroit and Atlantic City, N.J., according to Smith.
