Couple Found Guilty of Trying to Extort John Stamos: [ send to a friend ] A Michigan couple has been found guilty of trying to extort $680,000 from John Stamos by threatening to sell old photos of him with strippers and cocaine to the tabloids unless he paid up.
Allison Coss, 24, and Scott Sippola, 31, were convicted of conspiracy and using e-mail to threaten a person's reputation. Although federal prosecutors said they were never in possession of any such compromising pictures. The charge carries a sentence of up to five years in prison.
Police arrested the two after the FBI set up a sting operation at a money drop in December at an Upper Peninsula airport.
"I would like to thank the court, the FBI and the U.S. attorney's office for their swift and efficient dealings in connection with this case," Stamos said outside court. ...
