Imagine Dragons frontman Dan Reynolds told Billboard on Thursday (September 19th) that the band isn't likely to begin work on a follow-up to its year-old breakthrough debut, Night Visions, for quite some time. The singer explained, "I think Night Visions has a lot of breath and life left in it . . . we're having a problem where we keep saying, 'All right, we're going to take, like, a month off,' and then we get an offer to play throughout South America and wherever else. We know we have all these fans waiting for us to play there, so we can either take that month off or go play for those people, and we just keep saying 'yes,' for better or for worse."

Reynolds, however, thinks that the band's non-stop promotional and touring schedule for Night Visions is exactly what's made the band successful: "I think that's been a huge key. If I had to give any advice to any musicians who are looking to break, it's never say no to anything. We haven't said no to anything. We've done every interview that we could possibly fit in, we've visited every radio, we've done every acoustic session, we've done, you know, every show, and sometimes you're just so burnt out that you just want to say no to things. I think we just never said no, we just kept playing and playing and playing and playing."

Reynold did reveal, however, that he's been writing on the road and has ideas stockpiled for a second record, saying, "I already have, like, 35 demos in a playlist folder in my iTunes, (titled) 'Number Two.' I don't know when that day will come, but when it does we'll sort through all those demos like we did for the first album and pick out our favorites and work on them in the studio, in a live setting, and that's where they'll really come alive."

Night Visions debuted at Number Two on the Billboard album chart back in mid-September of last year and has sold well over one million copies since then.

The disc has yielded the chart-topping Modern Rock hits "It's Time" and "Radioactive," while current single "Demons" is sitting at Number Three.

The Las Vegas band's latest run of tour dates brings it to Columbia, Maryland on Friday night (September 20th).
