311's vocalist, Nick Hexum has announced that he will be releasing his first-ever solo album entitled My Shadow Pages. In a press release, the singer explained that although the band has a couple of projects on the way, he has been considering this album for a while. He said, "We just launched our annual summer tour and we'll have a new 311 album coming in 2014. But this Nick Hexum Quintet album is something I've wanted to do for a long time." My Shadow Pages, which features production by Jim Scott, is set to be released on October 1st. The album will be released on Hexum's own label, What Have You Done Records via partnership with INgrooves/Fontana.

Motorhead's guitarist, Phil Campbell has revealed details on the cancellation of their summer concerts. Business as usual real soon." The band canceled the remaining shows on their summer European tour because their front man, Lemmy, suffered a hematoma.
Nile Rodgers has claimed that Daft Punk's second single from their album will be released in August. He took to his blog to deny that the group will be joining his show in New York in August. He said, "There's going to be me, my band CHIC, and some of the hottest acts and surprises on the planet that day. . .which happens to be around the time the next Daft Punk single drops (I'm just saying)"
