Guess Slipknot drummer Joey Jordison is tired of waiting around for singer Corey Taylor to come back to the band and start writing a new album, since Jordison has gone ahead and launched a new musical project. According to Loudwire, Jordison revealed via his Facebook page that he's been working on a new musical venture, although he did not offer up any further details. He did. however. post a few photos taken in the studio while recording.
Jordison has done side projects before, most notably the band Murderdolls. He has also been a touring drummer for Korn, Rob Zombie and Ministry.
We asked Jordison if playing with many different acts has helped him stay focused while Slipknot is dormant: "Absolutely, man. It totally does. Me being in Ministry and Korn and Zombie, all that stuff, you know, it's like, I like to project myself into a lot of different elements because I love music and music is my life and it's my lifeblood."
Slipknot has toured a few times since the May 2010 death of bassist Paul Gray, but the group has not recorded any new music since its last album, 2008's All Hope Is Gone.
Taylor and guitarist Jim Root have recorded three albums with their other band Stone Sour in the interim. The latest, House Of Gold And Bones, Part 2, came out earlier this month.
Taylor has indicated that he is not in any rush to make the next Slipknot album. There are reports that Slipknot will enter the studio next year to make a new disc for release in 2015.
