Disturbed singer David Draiman's new band Device has released yet another new song from its upcoming self-titled debut album. The track, called "Penance," began streaming online Wednesday (March 27th), just a few days after another new track, "You Think You Know," was posted via Soundcloud. The full record arrives on April 9th, with Device kicking off a series of tour dates on the 10th in Mobile, Alabama.
Draiman told us that fans should not come out to see Device expecting to hear Disturbed songs: "This is a completely separate thing. One has absolutely nothing to do with the other, and I would caution anyone that is coming to any of these Device shows thinking that they're going to hear Disturbed material: they're not. They're gonna hear this record (laughs). I want it to exist on its own merit, on its own credit and to build it, you know, from the ground up. I have no problem doing that."
The Device album features guest appearances from Avenged Sevenfold singer M. Shadows, System Of A Down vocalist Serj Tankian, Rage Against The Machine guitarist Tom Morello, Halestormsinger Lzzy Hale, Black Sabbath bassist Geezer Butler and ex-Deep Purple bassist Glenn Hughes.
Draiman launched Device last year with ex-Filter guitarist Geno Lenardo, after Disturbed went on hiatus in late 2011.
Lenardo will not tour with Device due to previous commitments. The live band includes Evanescencedrummer Will Hunt and Dope guitarist Virus.
The first official single and video from the album, called "Vilify," has now cracked the Top 10 at Active Rock radio.
